Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Nexo (the “Service”), a Discord Activity operated by blendercs (“we”, “us”). By opening Nexo, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who may use Nexo

You need a Discord account in good standing, and you must meet Discord’s minimum age requirement for your country. Your use of Discord itself remains governed by Discord’s Terms of Service.

You may not use Nexo if you have previously been suspended from it, or if the law where you live forbids it.

2. Your account

Nexo has no separate account and no password: your Discord identity is your account. You are responsible for everything done through it. Keep your Discord account secure, and tell us if you believe someone else is using yours in Nexo.

One person, one account. Creating additional Discord accounts to gain an advantage in Nexo — extra daily rewards, inflated ranking positions, duplicate duel entries — is prohibited under §4.

3. What the Service is

Nexo is a word game. It is provided free of charge, for entertainment, and “as is”. We may add, change, suspend or remove game modes, rules, rewards, prices, rankings and cosmetic items at any time, and we may reset seasonal or event data.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be available without interruption, that it will be free of defects, or that it will be preserved indefinitely.

4. Fair play

Rankings are the point of Nexo. Everything in this section exists so that a position on a ranking means what it appears to mean.

You agree not to:

• Use bots, scripts, solvers, macros or any automation to play or to submit guesses.
• Attempt to obtain the answer by any means other than playing — including inspecting, intercepting or tampering with network traffic, or trying to extract the word list.
• Exploit a bug, glitch or unintended behaviour instead of reporting it, or benefit from one knowingly.
• Use more than one account, or play on someone else’s behalf, to gain an advantage.
• Interfere with the Service: overload it, probe it, bypass its rate limits, or circumvent any technical restriction.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile or copy the Service, except to the extent the law expressly permits despite this clause.
• Harass, threaten or abuse other players, or use a Discord display name or avatar that is illegal, hateful or sexually explicit while playing.
• Sell, buy, trade or transfer accounts, virtual currency or virtual items, or offer to.

5. Virtual currency and items

Nexo contains an in-game currency (“nexos”), room tickets, and cosmetic frames. The following applies to all of them:

• They have no real-world value. They are not money, not property and not a financial instrument. They cannot be exchanged for cash or anything of value outside the Service.
• You receive a licence, not ownership. Obtaining an item grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it inside Nexo, for as long as the Service and your account exist.
• They are not transferable. They cannot be gifted, traded or moved between accounts.
• Balances and prices may change. We may adjust rewards, costs and availability, and may withdraw an item from sale. Items obtained by achievement stay with the account that earned them, except in the case of §8.
• They are cosmetic. No item, purchase or supporter benefit grants an extra attempt, a hint, a score multiplier or any competitive advantage. This is a design rule we hold ourselves to.
• They expire with the account. If your account is deleted or terminated, unused balances and items are forfeited without compensation.

6. Nexo is not gambling

Nexo is a game of vocabulary, not a game of chance, and nothing in it is a bet, a wager or a lottery. Stated explicitly, because tickets and duels can resemble something they are not — there is:

• no cash prize and no payout of any kind;
• no way to withdraw, cash out or convert nexos or tickets into money or anything of value;
• no transfer of money, currency or items between players;
• no stake — you never win what an opponent paid, and losing a duel costs you nothing;
• no promise, suggestion or possibility of profit or financial return.

A ticket does exactly one thing: it opens a duel room. Joining a room that someone else opened is free for everyone, always. Outcomes depend on vocabulary and speed, not on chance, and no amount of money changes the odds of winning a match.

7. Paid features

Nexo currently offers no paid features and processes no payments. If paid features are introduced, they will be described in the Service before purchase, payment will be handled by a specialised payment provider, and these Terms will be updated first.

If and when purchases exist, they will be final and non-refundable once the item or currency is delivered, except where a refund is required by consumer protection law — in Brazil, notably the right of withdrawal under article 49 of the Código de Defesa do Consumidor for purchases made at a distance.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access, remove content, reverse transactions, reset progress or revoke items if you break these Terms — in particular §4 — or if we are required to by law. Where the breach is minor and correctable, we will try to warn you first; where it is a deliberate exploit, we may act immediately.

You may stop using Nexo at any time by removing its authorisation in Discord, under User Settings → Authorized Apps. To have your data deleted as well, see the Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual property

The Nexo name, logo, interface, artwork, game modes, cosmetic designs and curated word lists belong to us or to our licensors, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. These Terms grant you a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own entertainment — and nothing more.

Nexo is inspired by the tradition of daily word games, and its rules, word lists, modes, ranking, economy and artwork are its own. Nexo is not affiliated with any other word game.

10. Privacy

Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

11. Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer protection law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, for lost progress, virtual currency or virtual items, or for interruptions of the Service. Nothing here excludes liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Not affiliated with Discord

Nexo is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or specifically approved by Discord Inc. “Discord” is a trademark of Discord Inc.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be announced inside the Activity before they take effect. Continuing to use Nexo after a change means you accept the new Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil.
